Is your job making
you fat?
Do you have a job that requires you to be parked in to your
seat for a better half of the day? No doubt that’s one of the reasons for your
expanding waistline. A study conducted by the University of Chicago found that
a worker in a sedentary career may end up with a Body Mass Index 3.3 unit
higher than someone in a highly active job.
Take some quick action, right now, so that you
don’t fall into the unhealthy trap that is all around you. Here are some things
that you can do to keep away the unhealthy flab:
·
Park as far away from the building as you
can- You will gain some extra steps by doing this on an everyday basis.
·
Take the stairs
·
Don’t skip meals – Skipping meals doesn’t help you either
because studies have shown that those who skip meals, especially breakfast tend
to overeat the rest of the day.
·
Use the Restroom that is the furthest
distance from your work station
·
Go Walking at Lunch- If you have time
walk a couple of laps around the parking lot.
·
Guard against heavy meals – Avoid frequent visits to your favorite
eateries and instead try out a healthy tiffin service for a change.
·
Avoid too many cups of tea or coffee during the day
·
Carry a few mid-meal snacks to work with you,
so that you don’t fall for a heavy candy dish.
Implement these strategies in your daily routine and get
ready for a healthy foundation!
